Don't take it seriously if they said it with a turkey leg in each hand.
Ignore them, and be proud of yourself! Maybe they should compare blood test results with you, hopefully it'll be a wake up call for them to start taking better care of themselves.
Yeah when I told my Mom and one Sister way back in 1984 that I was going to become vegetarian, they both blurted out that I could not do it because I would die. Now another sister is more vegetarian than me. I have become a little more flexitarian and like another commenter prefer fresh meat.
Looked at the comments expecting to see a lot of vegan hating and 'bacon tho', but I've been pleasantly surprised. Vegan loveeeee
Hey guys, only just noticed this got accepted. It's great to see so many positive comments on here :) I'm in no way a health guru, but I make sure to get what I need while still allowing treats, and I'm definitely way better off than I was a year ago eating animal products. For anyone considering changing their diet for health or ethical reasons but don't think they can go full on vegan, I'd recommend cutting out dairy products for a week or two and see how you feel, after a week of no cheese I no longer had cravings and felt so much more energetic. (This could just be me lol) I saw a few comments further down worrying about iron, to put people's minds at rest I should mention that I've donated blood three times since going vegan, my iron levels were the same each time and well within the healthy range, so I'm obviously doing something right :) and I get my b12 from energy drinks (not the greatest, but I drank them before I went vegan and was glad to hear my favourite ones were still suitable)
Well Im not fat, meaning I changed my diet some years ago, I pretty much always get perfect blood results... and yet im not healthy. People will always tell you something isnt healthy. Its quite important that your argument about health isnt 1- your vegan diet ( make it more specific - like reduction of high fat meat, or reduction or animal based sweets) 2- you are not fat ( Fat people can be healthier then you. )
So what? If you feel good then what does it matter what anyone else thinks?

I'm about as far from vegan as is possible, and I'm 100% on your side. If it works for you, it works for you. End of discussion. Ignore them, eat your soy, and enjoy your health.
It's their lives that suck. Way to be healthy!
