Today, due to a health insurance mix up, my schizophrenic girlfriend has been off her meds for a little over a week. She's convinced I can read her mind, and if I don't stop "pretending" she'll slit my throat in my sleep. Her medication won't be available for at least another two weeks. FML

Just an update, she is in the hospital doing better, and my throat is in tact. And for everyone telling me to leave her, its not gonna happen

Take her to the e.r. They have to give her medication when it is this serious

911! Urgent care! Psychiatric Emergency! Pick one! Death threats should not be taken lightly! Seriously, call 911! the hospital will have her meds.

Why the hell would you date a schizo?!

Because everyone deserves love. It's not that woman's fault for having the disorder, and it shouldn't matter because she's on medication. (Except not in this case, for a week or so.)

Sorry to hear about your situation. I have been in your shoes. My wife is bi-polar with split personalities and i have woke up to her saying that i was cheating and she was goin to slit my throat and burn my body. Luckily it subsided and we both agreed she should get some help at a behavioral health facility. Now she has her meds and we are living very happy, so you need to get her help.

Be respectful to the OP. He has his own reasons for being in a relationship just like anyone else, so be more aware before posting things like "why are you dating a schizo?" Though OP should definitely have gotten help, three weeks without medication would be putting both their safety at risk.

All of you people who are saying "dump her she's crazy", you are disgusting. I can be a burden to be with someone who has an uncontrolled mental illness, but for the OP this is usually not the case. His girlfriend does take care of herself, this was the fault of a stupid medical system. People with Schizophrenia don't CHOSE to have it, they are people and deserve to be treated as such. You people CHOSE to be assholes, so shut up about things that you don't understand.

If she's having delusions, you can take her to the ER and they can give her meds to cover her until she is able to pick up her medication from the pharmacy. She might not be in any state of mind to let them know which meds she was on, so hopefully you have a med list for the ER doctors so they know what to give her. It's been a while, so hopefully you got her the help she needs, but people having psychotic episodes like this need to get immediate help...They might be a danger to themselves or to other people. Especially if they directly threaten to hurt you or themselves.

Your life is not worth a pics of tail. dump her move on.

stay strong, you can do it. and she should be thankful for such a brave and loyal boyfriend.

It's like the anime Mirai Nikki but not as serious.
