IntoTheClouds tells us more.
So I couldn't fit the whole story into the FML, but we actually didn't have to re-stock everything (and for the record, there was a huge sale going on, so she got, like, fifty shirts). Her credit card got declined. She then tried writing a check, but her check was apparently declined (my manager had taken over the register at that point). She spent ten minutes calling her friends, who were in the mall, to get them to come and help, but none of them came, and then she tried another credit card she had, and finally it went through. It was extremely frustrating, because my manager and I missed the bus, which we needed to get home.

I dont get how somebody don't get her annoyance. She has probably worked for at least 8 hours or more, and would finally be off, but then a customer comes at last minute, and tries to buy a huge amount of clothing, but ends up spending a crazy lot of OP's time. It may be embarrassing for the costumer, but as you see, when she tried to buy approx 50 t-shirts, the chance of her being in a big rush is quite small.
Hours posted on the door mean nothing. I get to close my office gettin 1 to 2 every day for an unpaid lunch. People come up to the four and there are TWO signs that say Closed for Lunch. Will return at 2. Does this stop then from pulling on the door and knocking on it... nope. People are too wrapped up in themselves anymore to care about others, or to notice something as trivial as closing times.
That most have been embarrassing for her. Image if she wires an fml too
When I worked at a retail store several years ago, we had a customer come in and purchase a few thousands dollars work of high end boots and clothing. They paid with a check (yes, yes I know but the manager accepted it!) and it turns out they put a stop payment on the check! It was in retaliation for something the corporate office had done in regards to the customer.
shit happens I bet she's embarrassed
Sorry to hear that was a complete waste of time, though I suppose practice makes perfect.
Ahh, the joys of working retail. Slowly killing your soul one day at a time.
That's the problem with working in retail :/

Sometimes customer service sucks. But at least your manager knows you're a hard worker!
#39 - When working in a store the most irritating thing is someone coming in a few minutes before closing time. Closing up shop can take ages and someone coming in at the last minute and undoing all your preparation is annoying as all hell - it taking so long that you miss the bus of course just makes it that bit worse!
