Today, for the second time, I met the man I'm having an arranged marriage with in 3 months. I'd previously met him last night, while he was mugging me. FML

An arranged marriage in my culture just means parents introducing their son to a girl they think is appropriate for him with the girls parents acceptance. But that's all the guy and girl would take it from there, they choose to get to know each other or not. It's more like a blind date the first time.

If you live in Australia, and you are in an arranged engagement, are you aboriginal? If so, go to your Tribal mothers and tell them what's happened; they'll find you a better husband.

Just realized- if it is any other religious background, go to the women in charge. Like in Islam, talk to the imam's wife, mother or sisters. In the case of East Indian religion, find the women who worship Shiva's wife... Don't let this bully become your daily nightmare.

Oh gosh, OP, if you have a choice or anything, get away from there and get a job or better yet if you have money saved up go to college...first of all arranged marriages will probably (and definitely in this case) not bring happiness and it seems like the guy you're going to "marry" is someone to definitely stay away from. One that sucks and two you shouldn't be forced to have an arranged marriage. This isn't the enchanted forest! You should marry who you love.

Run. Run from the obvious ass that you are being arranged to marry and run from the crap family that doesn't care about you enough to let you make your own choices. Seriously, you should be picking up your purse and walking out the door 3 seconds after you read this. RUN NOW!
