You would have failed anyway. Open book exams are always harder than closed book.
Open books always seem to be the hardest, because everything is right there, thus making it "inexcusable" to fail. You always seem to get asked questions about the tiniest details that really don't matter.
I'm sorry, but there's only one thing I can say: DUMBASS!!! If you have to make notes so you don't forget that you have a final where you NEED to have your textbook, then do it. (Conversely, you could/should also study for it, even if that means just skimming over the chapters.) That what Post-Its are for...
That's why you pack the night before
Even if a test is open notes you should still study and know where to find the answers.
Idk if it's just me, but in my country.. We never have open book tests, much less during finals.

Wow, that's kind of ballsy. I always study for open book tests and put little sticky notes in the most important parts for quick reference.
Your still supposed to study for open book tests otherwise you usually don't complete it on time because your busy looking things up.
