I hope you have been a teacher for a long time because if not you may find yourself unemployed soon. I hate teachers like you that penalize kids for being smart. Do know it is teachers like you that make kids hate school more than anything else about it?

I had to respond to this because my son was always in trouble at school. I met with teachers and principals several times and they kept telling me your son is so smart he gets in trouble for trying to take class discussions above we're they should be at his level. It would make me so mad because he was in trouble at school for being smart and the worst part was that the teachers were admitting it. Because of the way the system works our hands were pretty much tied so we finally had to tell him in class discussions just keep your mouth closed because they were threatening to send him to alternative school. Not fair at all to children and teenagers that function at a higher level. When he was in younger grades two or three of his teachers were trying to get him to skip a grade but the school would not do it. So now, yet another kid with an incredible mind hates school.

That's what my tech teacher is like. I can't even say "okay" without her accusing me of saying "a snide unnecessary comment" and trying to kick me out of tech.

Maybe the kid conducts seances and his dad does his homework from beyond the grave. Some ghosts have nothing better to do. On the other hand, why did the OP specify the dad as the partner in crime? It could have been the mom, mom's new boyfriend (who may have had a hand in dad's demise ;) ), an aunt, uncle, cousin or older sibling. Or maybe the nice volunteer tutor who drives that white, windowless van in which non-cash payments are extracted ;)
