Today, I added some of my own money to the tip jar in the Subway I work at to make myself look less pathetic. FML

Your reasoning behind doing it is pretty sad. But putting a dollar or two in before you start your shift usually helps people tip a little bit more on a slow night (which is why I did it when working at certain establishments).

Wow, be grateful you get tips! I don't know anyone who would tip someone at Subway. There are plenty of jobs far worse than yours where a tip would never be given so quit whining.

I went to subway today and dontated 2cents hahaha

I used to work at a Subway. We didn't have a tip jar... what Subways have tip jars?? I've never seen ANY Subway or ANY fast food place with a tip jar!! Is this a yankee thing???

Nope, it's not a Yankee thing. I live in Alabama, and we have them here.

The location on the FML clearly says the OP is from Saskatchewan, Canada. Are we Canadians yankees now? Did I miss the memo?

I feel your pain. I worked at Subway and we did that, too.

At our subway, the tip jar used to never had more than 3-4 dollars in it. People seldom tip fast food anyway, and splitting 3-4 dollars between 5-6 employees never amounted to much. However, now we always keep five ones in the tip jar to make it look full. People see the money, thus they think about tipping, and more people actually do it. As a result, everyone always clocks out of their shift with at least a three dollar tip in their pocket. Still a small tip? yes. but we are working fast food. and the point is, stuffing the tip jar helped. so good for you.

@chiefsuggs. your an idiot. it's not that hard to make sandwiches and surprise surprise. they applied for that job. i worked harder in the military than any little subway person. try 12 hour shifts six months straight in the desert. where the hell is my tip jar at?

I believe the word you were looking for is "You're". Learn to spell before you call someone an idiot. Again, like the rest of the people bashing ME (and not the OP), my point was not that the job is hard. My point is that the customers are the worst in the business, and for putting up with them, those employees deserve a tip jar.

OMG!!! Nobody likes their job! ButtNuggetz or whatever the hell your name is, as someone who has worked in several fast food establishments, various sandwich shops, as a bartender, and as a server, making a damn sammich is easy peasy! Serving was by far the hardest service job I'd ever had! BUT I MADE BUKU BUCKS!!! Those eccentric people were RARE! And I'm sorry for you if you are so developmentally delayed that it takes you more than a split second to chop a jalapeno in half with a knife. I personally used to line up the jalapeno chips in a row and do one quick chop down the middle! Would I work there again? Hell no! I was 19 and they paid me accordingly! OP is a damn kid! He doesn't need that much money to support his WoW habit!
