Today, I asked out this girl at work who I've had a crush on for a while. She looked oddly familiar, aside from the fact that we worked together. It was almost like we'd met outside of work. Two hours and one Snapchat story later, I realized I'd asked out my best friend's girlfriend. FML

Today, my best friend asked out my girlfriend at work, FML

I'm guessing and hoping she said no?

Wow that is awkward... Though, understandable if you've either never met her or only met her a few times (or have absolutely trash facial recognition like I do). Best to just fess up now, before things get blown out of proportion.

I don't think your best friend is going to buy that story. I bird-dogged your girlfriend because...I FORGOT...she was your girlfriend. Steve Martin gave us the solution to everything!

How do you get them having sex from OP asking her out? "Man that was a great lunch. Oh look, it's time to have sex on the table." I'm no expert on these 'spontaneous sex lunches' but I don't believe that's how that works.

17, a bird dog, in this case, refers to someone who has stolen another person's girlfriend/boyfriend.

Honestly, if my best friend started dating someone I work with (or if their SO got a job where I work), I think I'd know about it pretty quickly. How were you not aware that your best friend was dating someone you work with?

That's what I'm saying! And it's a little odd that OP and the coworker haven't talked enough to figure that out. If I think I know a coworker from a past experience I always ask.

Sure they are/were your 'Best' friend? Seems like you should've known

How can you not remember how your best friends girlfriend look and sound when you have met them in other settings before?

I'm just wondering how toy didn't know your "best friend's" girl friend.

Unless they haven't been dating for very long, how do you not recognize your best friend's girlfriend; especially when you work with her?
