Today, I attended a job fair for a position at a shop. I was the only one who showed and submitted an application. I didn't get the job. FML

They don't just hand out jobs by default. Employment is not done on a first-come, first-serve basis. You probably have reeking body odor and/or a face that would scare little kids . . . and big kids, and adults and primates, in general.

Just because you were the only to apply at the JOB FAIR doesn't mean you were the only person to apply at all. Use your brain. If I had to guess, that contributed to your not getting the job.
