Today, I bought a live lobster to have for dinner. When my four year old daughter discovered it in the cooler, she thanked me incessantly for finally getting her a pet. She now won't let "Mr. Shelly" out of her sight. FML

I actually got a lobster and taking care of it now. I'm fifteen, my first thought was... aw so cute i need a pet lobster. but now my dog is jealous of "lobsteir Yak Putin" or as i write it "Лобстеир Як Путин".

If there is salt water near you, then take the lobster there to go back to his family. I'm sure a four year old will understand that the lobsters little baby lobster is missing his dad. If there is no salt water, have a friend buckle Mr. Shelly up and drive him to the ocean...

Noooo nononono... that is a bad idea. There are all sorts of things animals can pick up once they leave the ocean that can infect their environment if they're not properly quarantined first and cause bad, bad things to happen.

Good on you. You're a good parent. In 20 years your kid will love and respect the stuffing out of you. But you better make sure to not aquire too many surprise pets. Vets tend to be expensive.
