Today, I bought an expensive dress because it was me and my boyfriend's one year anniversary, and he was taking me somewhere nice. When he saw me in the dress, he looked at me, laughed and said, "Seriously, what are you wearing?" FML

just how ugly was this dress? sometimes $$$$$ does not mean quality.

So it was an expensive ugly dress? Did you really think the price tag made it better? Most people will recognize ugly for being ugly, and a cute dress for being cute. Few people will recognize expensive for being expensive.

The correct way to say it is "my and my boyfriend's". You wouldn't say "Today I bought an expensive dress because it was I's anniversary", would you?

"Mine and my" would be much more better.

much better is better than more better... more better is like saying better better.

"much more better" is a personal quirk stolen from Captain Jack Sparrow =]

sucks that it was expensive maybe you should spend more on him and i agree just because its pricey doesn't mean its cute but your boyfriend is still a jerk for saying that..pretty rude..hope u can make a return lol

Either 1. It's a horrible looking dress and you have no taste 2. Your BF was being rude about a nice dress. Either way, maybe next time don't spend so much money on a dress... just go for nice and basic.

Honestly, most guys aren't impressed/don't give a crap when girls dress up fancy, spend an hour on their hair, and wear even more makeup than normal. In fact, I think most girls look better in jeans, little to no makeup, and a low-maintenance hairstyle. When I see someone all dolled-up, I think "pretentious, image-obsessed, self-absorbed." OP, your boyfriend would've been just as happy, if not happier, if you'd worn whatever you'd wear on any other date, and you could've saved yourself a lot of money. In fact, next time you should use that money to take HIM out. That'd make him happier than a dress ever could.

Agreed 100%, 69. I'm not terribly attractive myself, but I don't go out of my way to make myself attractive. So what if I just wear what works, let my hair down and leave makeup out of the picture? You waste a lot of money if you buy clothes and rarely wear them. Put that money in savings or something instead, sheesh.
