If you are actually, truly breaking up with him, his response does not matter. You are done. If you were saying that in some sort of manipulative way, trying to get a response from him, that's pretty inmature.

I'd be a little hurt I guess. Just because a couple can't resolve their differences or feelings change doesn't mean he has to be heartless. It's nice to know that while you couldn't make it work, the relationship still meant something for the years that they were together. Everyone handles things differently but he could've been a little more mature about it.
