Today, I brought my dog to the vet for a routine surgery. The vets assured me that no dog had ever died during this procedure. Apparently my dog was the first. FML

So sorry. They should at least pay for a new puppy.

That's what you get for going to the vet. I give my 6 dogs their own surgeries when needed. It's acctualy quite simply, butcher knives and crazy glue. :) GL

That really sucks :/ I mean I don't think the vet should of said that even if he had not had this type of incident there is always risk to any surgery.

I'm so sorry about that. You should freakin' sue the vet. And all of you saying YDI are pathetic.

You can't just sue because you feel like it. Have you ever had a pet operated on? You must sign a waiver, no matter who the vet is, relieving them of responsibility if the animal passes away. Anesthetics are the number one reason why an animal would die during a surgery.

As a guide dog user, I'm especially upset reading this. My dog and I are a team. When she's not in harness she's just like any other dog and I love her. I'd be really angry at a vet for promising me my dog would be okay, and then giving me a call later to tell me he lost her on the table. You should have an autopsy done to rule out why the dog died. It's incredibly possible the dog had a heart issue nobody knew about.

aww i'm so sorry to hear that. -hugs-
