Today, I called my mom to tell her that I'm coming over for a visit. She answered: 'Why? What do you need? Food? Money? I'm not going to help you! You're a grown woman!' And she hung up. I just found out that I'm pregnant and she was the first person I wanted to share it with. FML

Just go over there unannounced and inform her very calmly that you've decided to quit your job to become a lesbian stripper. After she's had her fit, yell "Just kidding! I'm pregnant!" She'll be so happy that she'll forget the whole food and money thing.

If that comment was directed at me, No, I actually have a wonderful relationship with my mother. I wasn't being "all defensive". I just feel that assuming the OP is a bitch based on the extremely limited amount of information given to us is a bit ridiculous. It is really dumb to make decisions about a person's personality when there is no basis for the decision.

I have several family members that whenever they call, I think to myself, what do they want me to give them this time, usually because they have blown all their money on drugs, booze or something else that was unnecessary
