Today, I came out to my parents. I don't really fit any stereotype, I'm just an average guy who happens to be into guys. Ten minutes later, I overheard my mother say to my step-dad, "Should we redecorate his room pink?" FML

I hate it when people give in to stereotypes. Good for you for coming out though.

When I came out (as bi, not lesbian) my mom wanted to paint my room rainbow.. Wait.. That would be awesome.

YDI for not wanting pink feature boa's and a big old flag. Jk wtg girl.

Good for you buddy. "average" guys are the best ones in my book! Stand tall, be proud, and keep moving forward. Your mom is trying, she just has no concept of what you feel inside. She'll get it as you move along.

Congrats on coming out! :) And really, at least they accept you. When I came out as gay, my dad wanted to throw me out of the house. He then realized I already lived alone and by now he accepts me and my boyfriend as we are. :) And pink isn't that bad.. we have a rainbow in our bedroom, because my sister insisted on drawing it. :D We love it.

Your brave but I don't think she should of. Said that though it's kind of stereotypical

Hey, that's tough to do! You should be proud of yourself for coming out. Personally I don't know this struggle, but I have seen friends struggle with this, and it's not easy. So good for you! As for the room, you might wanna talk with your parents, cause a pink room for a guy (any sexuality) is kind of embarrassing (or I would think so) lol good luck OP

Atleast they are trying to make you happy!
