Today, I decided to take a nap before a big job interview at 6. I set two alarm clocks to make sure I didn't miss it, but I woke up at 5:59. As I'm scrambling in a panic to get out the door, my mom says calmly, "I took your alarm clocks out of your room because you looked really tired today." FML

when I first read this I thought am and they were waking up. after the second time I thought what an idiot for taking a nap. drink coffee or 5 hour energy. you really had it coming by napping before an interview.

If a person have a job interview at six p.m. and at three-thirty p.m. they decide to take a small nap and set not one but two alarms to make sure they are awake in time to wake up, get dressed, possibly grab a snack, and drive to the interview. How do they have it coming if if they oversleep because their mom then decides to remove to alarm clocks from their room? Especially given that the average person doesn't set one alarm, let alone two, for no reason and it is always possible to check if an alarm is set? Coffee doesn't affect everybody the same way, or rather caffeine doesn't. For example my boyfriend, drink one cup of coffee and he perks up and become very alert but I have to drink (and sadly I'm not exaggerating) about ten cups of coffee to achieve the same effect because I have a much higher tolerance to caffeine. So it's all well and good to say drink coffee but maybe they knew it wouldn't help. Five hour energy doesn't work for everybody either and is really expensive for what it is. Energy drinks can bring on the crash faster due to high caffeine and sugar contents not to mention all the other stuff in them.

Agreed Chibi. Mostly because if I happen to drink 2+ cups of coffee, I get diarrhoea

Wow that sucks...If that had been my mom I would have chewed her out so bad...still, why take a nap before an interview? When you first wake up you're groggy and disoriented...still sucks though.

I would guess that they probably set the alarms so that they would have enough time to wake up and become not groggy and disoriented.

No, she was just being stupid. Who the hell thinks taking an alarm clock out of someone's rooms is a good idea? The alarms are obviously set for a reason.

FYL. Didn't you tell your mom about the interview?

how do you know you woke up at 5:59 when your mom took your alarm clocks?

Do you really think there were no other clocks in the house, or that she didn't freak out and say "WTF I overslept, mom what time is it?!". I mean, that would be my reaction.

she meant well but that's why people should stay out of other's things

that's b.s. I would of said "WTF?!!"
