Today, I did my small part to help the environment by hanging my clothes outside to dry rather than using the dryer. The birds showed their appreciation by crapping on the majority of my clothes. FML

Bah! Let the birds worry about having skies to fly in on their own from now on.

So when did nature become so harmed by dryers? Also, this is the perfect reason why some genius made a dryer.

Dryers use electricity don't they? Using less electricity, which is most likely generated by some form of polluting power plant (just assuming here, doesn't have to be true), means less pollution. Notice the op said 'small', dryers don't actually use that much... Unless you have it running 24/7 of course.

Drying clothes indors might be a bad idea, because during the heating period it is less energy efficent than using a dryer.

64 is right. Even if you make the argument that it can constitute present actions as well, the word karma would still be grossly misused. "Karma embraces both past and present deeds. Hence in one sense, we are the result of what we were; we will be the result of what we are. We are not totally the result of what we were; we will not absolutely be the result of what we are." However, the actual law of karma references the action itself. The reaction or consequence due to karma is vipaka, and when vipaka is negative due to a bad deed it is called adinaya. And this information is based on Buddhist doctrine.

You can dry your clothes inside as well without the dryer.
