Today, I did slightly below average on my programming project. Aside from it being unnecessarily difficult, I also couldn't focus on it due to problems at home. After I confided in my colleague about it, I heard him mutter, "I knew women were crappy programmers". FML

Don't worry, you'll get there, programming languages, like actual languages take time and practise to learn, and you can't exactly do that when you have other things on your mind. Your colleague sounds like a knob and should go have another doughnut and cry.

Hi! I'm Rusty! Not Op. Just my real name!

It has nothing to do with your gender. HOWEVER. In no real-world job do you get to use your home life as an excuse. It's never an excuse. You will never keep a job like that.

Never an excuse that makes your less-than-standard-quality work completely excusable, but it does explain why it is the case and that it will most likely pass. It's understandable and sometimes it's possible to cut the employee a little slack for a (few) day(s).

while(OP_Colleague.horridlySexist == true) { Console.WriteLine("OP's colleague is a sexist " + ExpletiveList[rand(0,300)] + "!"); }

I'm in high school and have taken both programming coarse my school offers and both years was top of my class as a girl and the ratio was 1:10 girls to guys in Rhodes classes so ignore him he is an idiot
