Well the O.P.'s gender is female (woman)...so she either looks like a man and/or acts like a man. When did they say they're a woman (when you said 'just because they say you look masculine...' means you assume they're one)? They're probably a man or else they wouldn't have said anything about working in the beauty department—that wouldn't justify anything.
