How stupid can they be? The Mayans just ran out of room, as #217 said. The world isn't going to end, the worst that would happen would be a bunch of people marking checks wrong, like any other year.

At least there was a college fund. My dad told me that he has other, younger kids and I'm not getting a cent. I joined the Army during Vietnam to get college money and worked my way to a PhD and a six figure salary. I don't hear much from him now. And he doesn't hear much from me, either. By the way, he told all my brothers, except the youngest, the same thing. He only paid for the sisters and the spoiled baby of the family.

Honestly the whole "the world's going to end in 2012" thing is getting old and was just plain ridiculous from the beginning. It says in the Bible that no one knows the time of the end of the world.
