Why don't we just elect someone to say "latex free gloves are easily available, and a simple solution to your problem" once and then just thumbs up the living hell out of it?
why complain about having a latex allergy being a medical student. I mean a real medical student would know that there are other types of gloves out there. smh.
that sucks.. I feel really bad for you. but third year?? you've never worn latex gloves until now? I hope there will be an alternative. good luck
There are many alternatives to latex when it comes to gloves. I don't have an allergy to latex but as a CNA I use the non latex ones so I don't develop one. As for condoms, use lamb skin.
lamb skin... gross. i just dont like the idea of a lambs skin on me. luckly i dont have an allergy as far as i know
I'm sure others have said it but I'll say it anyway. This is not a FML! I've only been an EMT for a year and I know they most facilities don't use latex gloves. A lot of people have latex allergies, so even if your whole staff doesn't have latex allergies, you still need non latex gloves because the chance you PTs will have a latex allergy is pretty big. Now if your FML was, "Today, I bought a huge box of latex condom to save some money. Turns out I'm allergic to latex. I know what my friends are getting for presents this year. FML" That I could see being a problem. This is just a stupid FML.
Ever occur to you that one of these follows the other?

So? Most hospitals have stopped using latex gloves, anyway.
#1- Okay, I won't.
