Today, I discovered that I have developed an allergy to salt water on my face. Now, every time I sweat or cry, I come up in a bright red rash. I am allergic to my own bodily fluids. FML

so, no one is allowed to express any doubt about anything unless they have a Masters or higher in the subject being discussed?

No need for a Master, just google and the word water allergy

Well, OP, if this story is true, you get a clear FYL! Anyway, I doubt any of the water allergies are caused by the contact with the H20 itself, but rather by a mechanical trigger (contact of the skin with a foreign object), or contact with some salts in that water. Allergy to H20 is death, but to me it sounds impossible.

Possibly true. I'm allergic to all sorts of retarded things as well [severe temperature changes such as cold rain water on a summer day, dust mites that are everywhere, and lobster], I feel your pain. F your life and mine.

Fake. No ******* way. Even if it was true, you might as well kill yourself.

I think mods should add a link to the first post to an article explaining Water Allergies and tell people to read it and NOT say Fake due to, "This allergy being impossible," under threat of comment deletion (Maybe temp ban) People are allowed to express doubt, but NOT about the existance of a REAL allergy. Over it being face specific, sure, but otherwise... Oh, guys, btw, it could be MILD to the point that only the face and other sensitive areas (That can't cry, mind you) react

Salt is a key compound in organisms, and there's no way someone could be allergic to something critical for life. Unless there's something else in tears or sweat that causes allergies (which is dubious at best). I call bullshit.

Ok, here's the reasons I'm calling fake: -I know there is a real allergy to water, I watched a documentary on a girl with it once, she couldn't cry because then she'd be in terrible pain and have a rash and be swollen, but she also couldn't sweat, can only take showers one minute at a time, and can't be exposed to water at any times other when she is taking a shower. When her showers are done, she has a rash that lasts for 2 hours, and in that time she won't even go out in public or anything. Water allergies are a lot more painful and upsetting than what the OP is leading on to. If I had a water allergy, I would NOT be whining about it on FML. -She never even said that a doctor told her she was allergic to "salt water on her face." It doesn't make sense that someone could just be allergic to salt water on one part of their body. If you were allergic to salt water on your face, you'd be allergic to it in other sensitive areas as well. She never went to the beach before? -She wouldn't be able to eat foods with salt in them, she should have noticed that. -Someone said "Welcome to the world of eczema." If that's a symptom of eczema, than it is a sensitivity to her tears, not an ALLERGY to water. I'm not saying that having eczema wouldn't suck, especially if it hurts to even cry, but that's a hell of a lot less painful than an allergy to water. Seems like she's crying wolf and wants attention.

I used to have the same allergic reaction when i was younger. It eventually passed.
