Could be anything.... #25 including herpes. I am an ortho technician and have seen quite the variety of sores. Can't rule out anything so don't be a jerk to someone suggesting it. It's feasible. Also had braces two years ago so know of all sorts of other possibilities....however herpes is VERY common.
AHHH i feel for you! me & my mate always get really bad mouth ulcers, we dont know anyone else who gets them so regulary & many as we do. shes been doctors about them and they cant do anything. it can be a sign of stress or depression, acidic drinks such as orange juice can give them, the type of toothpaste or mouthwash can give them, spicy foods, tomatoes, cheese, chocolate or a hormone imbalance as the pill can make them worse slightly. Also during the early & late 20's is when you are more common to get them rather than any other time in your life
Suck on rock salt, works amazingly.

Haha I know exactly how that feels, having had my braces removed a year ago. Don't worry, it'll pass, just give it a week or so (:
I didn't have mouth ulcers back when I had braces or as a result of them being removed. You probably have some other sort of mouth related issue.
