Today, I discovered that just because I got my braces removed does not mean my painful mouth ulcers will stop. I now have them under my tongue. I can't even lick my lips. FML

Haha I know exactly how that feels, having had my braces removed a year ago. Don't worry, it'll pass, just give it a week or so (:

I didn't have mouth ulcers back when I had braces or as a result of them being removed. You probably have some other sort of mouth related issue.

Also, if you have the kind of ulcer that's extremely painful and caused by a bacterial infection, you can put extract of oregano on it, and that often kills it. Some dentists have a kit you can use to apply sulfuric acid to burn it dead, which is more reliable but more painful.

Put mustard on them, yes it will hurt like hell, but they will go away faster.

Could be anything.... #25 including herpes. I am an ortho technician and have seen quite the variety of sores. Can't rule out anything so don't be a jerk to someone suggesting it. It's feasible. Also had braces two years ago so know of all sorts of other possibilities....however herpes is VERY common.

AHHH i feel for you! me & my mate always get really bad mouth ulcers, we dont know anyone else who gets them so regulary & many as we do. shes been doctors about them and they cant do anything. it can be a sign of stress or depression, acidic drinks such as orange juice can give them, the type of toothpaste or mouthwash can give them, spicy foods, tomatoes, cheese, chocolate or a hormone imbalance as the pill can make them worse slightly. Also during the early & late 20's is when you are more common to get them rather than any other time in your life

Ugh, I had those when I had braces. Use some Ambesol, it'll numb your mouth. When your night gets used to the feeling without braces they'll go away
