Today, I finally got a tattoo of an alchemy symbol that I've wanted for years. I also found out later that symbol stands for urine. FML

If you wanted it for years, then shouldn't you have invested that time for more research into it? .-.

NEVER put a tatooo on your body if you aren't 100% sure about what is says!!!!

Wait, there are still alchemists out there? I thought this profession died out when chemistry and physics combined to annihilate it in a battle of epic proportions.

Although ancient alchemy involved a lot of myths and spirituality, it is the predecessor of modern chemistry. If the OP is planning on becoming a chemist they probably hold a lot of interest in the history of chemistry. So wanting the symbol of alchemy as a tattoo is not too far fetched. Also, in some cases alchemy was associated with the zodiac. So maybe the OP got their zodiac sign tattooed? But I would think that they would have just said zodiac if that were the case. But hey, who knows? Just throwing that out there.

In alchemy the zodiac signs symbolize different processes like: calcination, distillation etc. The planetary symbols are different metals. The symbol for Saturn meaning lead eg. So I don't think it could have been related to the zodiac.

That is very true. I almost went into more detail concerning the zodiac and alchemy connection, but I figured that I had already written a lot. I tend to write lengthy comments :/ I didn't really think that the zodiac was a likely possibility but I just wanted to cover my based and throw that out there.

Cut off your leg and get some automail

Did a little research of the urine symbol myself. Seems pretty weird to wanna have a square with a dot in it tattoo'd on ur body. OP seems fake.

I dunno. I've seen some weird tattoos. If someone is willing to get a mustache tattooed on their finger a box and a dot doesn't surprise me.

Square with a dot.. Sounds like a certain flag!:o

Then clearly the OPer knows nothing about alchemy if that's the symbol they wanted. Just some dbag trying to get published. If the moderators are gonna moderate, they should ate least make sure the story is plausible

If moderators were going to moderate they would probably exercise the power on you. Read the comment policy real quick.

Looked up the symbol myself. OP wanted a square with a dot in the center of it tattooed on her leg for years? Psssh yeah right.

Research before you permanently mark your body. It's just common sense.

Why didn't you find out it meant first lol this made my day.

I guess it all comes down to WHERE on your body you were planning on putting it. It could work. You were planning to tag your wang, right?

And according to her username, PeeLeg, she got the tattoo on her leg.

The OP didn't check what the "urine" symbol means, so I assume they had equal difficulty with the male/female symbols.

No one else could know this but you will, so guess whos going to suffer the most but on the inside mostly because you wouldn't dare tell anyone right?

You should modify the symbol and get the tattoo overwritten (or on this case, overpricked maybe).
