Today, I finally got the courage to tell my best friend that I've had a crush on him since our junior year. Since I couldn't see him I shot him a text. His response: "Yeah I know. I've tried kind of ignoring it." FML

Well this might not as bad as it could have been, he's known for ages that you have a crush on him, it doesn't make him too uncomfortable, and he's handled it and stays friends with you. You still have a best friend, and a lot of times that's worth more than a crush.

#4-Those things don't always work. Your best bet is to try to move on. I fell for a couple of gay guys in my high school... they were always super nice to me and dressed super cute. But, when I found out, I realized that was never gonna happen.

My best friend is doing the same thing right now, ignoring my feelings for her. But thankfully, I haven't had to hear validation of that, i just know it already. Sorry you had to hear it though. Thats even worse D:

#4 That's the best way of getting the friend to stop talking to him/her. It's annoying having your friends liking you and not being able to take a hint and leave you alone about it.

I was in the same situation and had to text my best friend that I was absolutely crazy for him. He said "thanks" and that it "didn't affect our friendship" and then got outed to me five months later by a guy who had a crush on him. Yeah, it sucked.

I don't think I'll ever understand why people text each other these things in the first place. Gather some courage and say it to their face - even if they reject you it won't be as harsh as what they'll say via text.

Yeah... we guys aren't very good at saying "no" so it's not unbelievable that he was trying to ignore your feelings, hoping that they'd go away. Lesson learned!
