Today, I finally got the courage to tell my best friend that I've had a crush on him since our junior year. Since I couldn't see him I shot him a text. His response: "Yeah I know. I've tried kind of ignoring it." FML

Well this might not as bad as it could have been, he's known for ages that you have a crush on him, it doesn't make him too uncomfortable, and he's handled it and stays friends with you. You still have a best friend, and a lot of times that's worth more than a crush.

At least he didn't respond with the typical "we're too different people" with the added bonus of using the fact that you're moving 2 hours away as an excuse. He was honest and didn't give you false hope.

That really sucks, but trust me you'll get over it. I was in love my friend april in high school and for a while after, we had been best friends for over 3 years at this point. I basically got the same response you did, which sucked. I went through all the crap.. driving around listening to sad music.. thinking you'll never want anyone else.. blah blah blah. But the truth is, you'll get over it, not today.. not tomorrow.. but eventually. Just move on, you'll find someone better, and you'll be happy, you just have to keep looking. Don't ever give up and try not to be down for too long, life's too short. ~
