I'm autistic. It's not a bad thing
It may just be that you spent months on physiological testing. Even if you are entirely fine eventually they will find something and autism is quite easy to misdiagnose. In my opinion it seems that the job is the problem, not you.
As a man with Autism myself, I know that (not unlike neurotypical people) Autists have too many variables to be able to just say "Oh, I suck at my job because I'm Autistic". What kind of job is it? Does it involve things you have difficulty with, or just can't stand doing? I worked in a call centre for about 3 months; I was excellent in training, but terrible on the job - this was due to a mixture of not getting connected to customers who wanted to buy our crap, not being fully trained for the different campaigns I ended up on over the course of the months, and not liking the idea of trying to get old and vulnerable people to buy expensive products that they don't use. I know you didn't ask for my life story; I was just using it as an example.
As someone who also recently found out something similar, I'm sorry OP. I know the feelings of anger & helplessness that come with news like that. Finding out is a good thing though, many people live their whole lives never knowing when they have a problem. I don't know how old you are but you can learn how to deal with it now & all the things you can do to get the most of what you want in life. Good luck OP!
It's normal not to excel in everything...personally I don't see much of an issue with it...I'll stop before I dig a larger grave...
You have aspergers. I sympathise. I have it too. it explained a lot of the difficulties I've had in my life and it took me some time but now I've made it work for me. Good luck I'm sure you'll make it.
don't stress over it too much. I have autism too. it probably just wasn't the right job for you. good luck in finding your niche!
I have Autism too, OP. It's nothing to be ashamed of.
i know it probably feels like a huge blow, but being autistic isn't so bad, or so big of a deal. chances are you've already adapted to it, & to compensating for your disability. i think you'll find there's nothing wrong with being autistic.

That's nothing to be ashamed of,OP! You're still clearly very intelligent. :-) I'm sure you will do great with more training/practice. Don't give up!
You're not wrong, but there are usually signs as a child that a parent notices and goes to a doctor for. Unfortunately you aren't born with mental or physical diseases you have printed on your chest. OP may be very low on the spectrum, meaning he's high functioning and displaying few signs, and his parent dismissed them as "quirks".
