Today, I finally got up the nerve to ask this really cute girl out I've had a crush on for over eight months. Turns out she isn't a girl. FML

there was someone in my school who i had always assumed was a girl until "she" was in the guy's bathroom.

#20, I think the OP made it quite clear they were after a woman with all the right parts. Don't try and push your beliefs onto them.

has it occurred to anyone saying they should go out anyway that the guy he accidentally asked out might not A. be gay, B. want to go out with him?

He had a crush on him while under the assumption that the person was a female. Going with it anyway would only make sense if he was ok with being with a male. I'm as open minded as they come, but I don't believe people choose their sexual orientation. If he's straight, and completely straight, he should find a girl. I think to say he should go for it anyway is a little bit ridiculous. The fact that she turned out to be a he completely changes the circumstances, and the crush is probably out of the window. I know if it was me, and I found out the guy I liked was a girl, I wouldn't still want him/her, just because I see no sexual appeal in another person's ******.

isn't choosing your sexual orientation the point of bisexuality?

No it isn't, bisexuality means you feel a sexual orientation towards two genders, it isn't switching between heterosexuality and homosexuality

I dont get all those ppl who have a 'crush' for x months/years on someone and wait so long with making a move. The faster you make your move the faster you can either move on or get together!

Totally agree w/ #25. And I'm happy I'm bisexual, it means no matter what's in their underwear...I'm happy. ;) And if they're transitioning from male to female, then as others said they *are* a girl, and give it a shot. Of course if they're transitioning the other way and you're straight...well, maybe come out of it with a friend. Or if it was just a gender mistake...come out of it with a friend too. :)

LOL. I wonder if he wanted to go out with the OP or what he said. "Oh, you thought I was a girl? My bad!"
