Today, I finished installing remote access CCTV cameras around my house due to the high rate of burglaries around my neighborhood. I turn it on to see my teenage son rubbing one out on the couch. FML

He wanted to make sure no one would steal it, obviously.

Why would you send your own son to the cops for masturbating at home?

Even if it did say robbing, I still don't think that we would need that explanation.

Did you happen to tell your son you were setting cameras up?

Why is a camera for burglars pointed into the room?

I've never heard of anyone putting CCTV cameras inside their house before.. unless you live in a mansion or something?

This isn't uncommon. It's not what most people do but plenty of people have this setup - look on YT to see videos of people calling the cops from work while watching a burglar in their home on their CCTV system.

YDI for putting cameras inside the house. Putting them outside would have been more helpful and a hell of a lot less creepy.

It's not that unheard of, actually. But OP probably should've told the family about if he hasn't already.

YDI for not informing his family of the cameras, but for burglary concerns its best to have cameras both inside and outside.

YDI, who puts cameras up INSIDE their house to keep a lookout for burglars? O_o

Some people do. I wouldn't but people certainly do and check in on their home from work or elsewhere. Burglars have even been caught this way.

you dont need cctv, just leave your son on the couch, guaranteed any burglar who walks in on him will turn right around, nobody wants to see that.

you should have told your whole family, that you are planning to film the whole house!

Well, that's the risk you got to take, OP..
