Today, I found my cat who's been missing for three days, sitting inside my neighbor's window. He won't answer the door. FML

OP here. My cat is an indoor cat, we rescued her when she was 2 months old and she never left the house in the last 3 years. My dog popped a corner of the screen out of one of my windows and that's how my cat got outside. We went to all of our nearby neighbors asking them to keep an eye out for her, and the particular person who has my cat hates my husband. We thought it was strange he was being so nice and friendly towards us the first day, and now we know why.

Of course the cat won't answer the door. He doesn't have opposable thumbs. Sorry to hear that, OP. Can you get the police involved?

I've always found doors, and locks in general, to be two way barriers.

Honestly I'm always afraid something like this will happen to me ?

Stealers, confronted by the police and evidence, become weepers.

Hasn't anybody watched SpongeBob before? Your neighbor must have a cookie in his pocket.

I searched the comment section seeing if someone has mentioned this before, your comment made my day.

Isn't that considered stealing? And with your cat most likely being an outdoor cat he might come back...

Have you been able to get the cat back yet? I'd definitely get the cops involved if they still won't give her back.

does the cat have a chip? I only ask cause at some point the neighbor will have to take it to the Vets and they can scan the chip and you can get your cat back.

Something like this happened to my friend. She has s gorgeous main coon that escaped but has a chip with a tracker in it. My friend was following the tracker and it ended in a neighbors yard. She knocked on the door and asked and they said they hadn't seen her so she checked further down the block just in case the chip was off or something but it kept telling her it was on their property. She knocked again and they have "miraculously" found her. Yeah right.

Grand theft cat, huh? Get the police involved

I sincerely hope you do have your cat microchipped--I know when we got our babies a year ago we weren't allowed to adopt them unless they were. Even if you don't and have to get the police involved vet statements and pictures of you and your husband with the cat should be sufficient.

Happened to my Mom's car when she married my dad. It dissapeared one day and they found her in the neighbors window a week later..

I would get the police involved. Or threaten to. Usually, the threat of legitimate criminal charges is enough to make many people back down.

I really hope you go to the cops. Good luck OP.

Your mom's car up and walked away, eh?

Why'd this turn into a pit bull discussion? This isn't what the post was about at all

#86 I'm not sure who you're talking to..

Hes talking to #81 and their string of replies

Can we get a follow-up for this follow-up?! What happened? Did you get the cat back? Too many questions left unanswered.

If photos don't convince the cops & if it's ever been to the vet, pull up the vet records. There's usually a description of the animal. Maybe even have your vet vouch for you if he can recognize it?

Smash the window and take ur cat back What's they gonna do, call the cops? my neighbor broke my window to take back their cat that I stole, that go well for them

Story time!! My sister had me harbor a cat until either she or I found her a home. I would let her outside from time to time and one day she was out too late so I went to bed. Two days later I walk by my neighbors window in the adjoining apartment building and there she was, laying on the top of their couch comfy as ****.

Kitty took your job. She found herself a home.

Or that was always her home and OP just kept her a few days.
