Sucks OP! Maybe some dirty idiot wiped their genitals on a public restroom seat..
They’re not hereditary. Except a woman giving birth could potentially pass it on to her baby if experiencing an outbreak at the time of birth. Usually this is quite bad for the baby and would cause a severe infection at birth.
stay out of your friends toy drawer in the future
oh, unfortunately it can be contracted any number of ways, its not so bad though, over 80% of the population have it so it's not as taboo or embarrassing as you might think. just make sure whenever you do decide to start dating to be honest about it, better than the consequences of lying
Where the f do you live that over 80% of the population has herpes??
She’s right the WHO says that 3.7 people under the age of 50 (67%) have HSV-1. In the US between 50% to 80% of adults have oral herpes. It’s a highly infectious virus and can spread easily. But a lot of people are asymptomatic doesn’t mean they don’t carry the virus.
that's not entirely true
you cant get herpes through blood
As much as this sucks for you but those nasty infections are mostly spread from skin to skin contact (oral herpes can be spread from close contact like kissing). So oral sex, rubbing or any contact with an infected person can cause HPV/HSV to spread. It’s really bad luck but you ought to be more careful even when you’re just “rubbing” or having oral sex. Condoms are a must if you don’t know the health status of your partner but even condoms dont provide enough protection if lesions are present near the genital area and are not covered by a condom. Better be safe than sorry. Hope the symptoms are not so bad! Some have very mild outbreaks and acyclovir helps with HSV. See your Dr for treatment and prognosis
Alcohol.
I guess you can get it from toilet seats. Lol. Plus mommy or daddy has it too. Clean your own dishes before using

I assume they might be hereditary, have your parents been tested?
