Show it anyway...your profile says you're 36. OP is literally less than half your age. This comment did not need to be made, my dude.
He's probably just speaking from his own experience.
I had a coworker who had never had herpes in his life. He caught it after drinking in one of the company's poorly washed glasses. Parents frequently passes it on to their kids because they all use the same glass when they brush their teeth. Yes, herpes, unlike HIV, can survive a pretty long time on surfaces like that. As for the genital warts...maybe it's the old touch-mouth-then-scratch-bum habit?
the STD fairy apparently
That sucks my dude did your dog get tested?
Aside from contracting through your parents, or recent genital contact, is it possible you were assaulted as a young child? Type I or 'Oral' herpes can be spread anywhere on the body near a mucus membrane, as can Type II 'Genital' herpes. Unless you have been tested you may only have one strain. Type I is very common as stated above. That sounds like a really hard thing for a teenager to deal with. There is plenty of resources to help you on your way though these days. You may want to even consider counseling. Good luck!

oh, unfortunately it can be contracted any number of ways, its not so bad though, over 80% of the population have it so it's not as taboo or embarrassing as you might think. just make sure whenever you do decide to start dating to be honest about it, better than the consequences of lying
I assume they might be hereditary, have your parents been tested?
