#22 I totally I agree!
A *talented* street performer makes more money than you. A no-talent, hack would make very little money on the street and have to supplement his or her income by taking a low-paying, humiliating, loser job like working at a bank. Maybe you should sing to you customers or juggle their money, leave out a tip jar and see what happens.
with the talent the OP probably has, it would earn negative amounts if money!
A street singer can make more money than you do in a day, yes. But on a yearly basis? No way. For one thing, it's next to impossible to sing during bad weather...which is about 2/3 of the year. A simple cold makes singing impossible. Or just plain chillyness. Or just another busker stealing the only good spot in town(it depends on the city). Not to mention various fines that one can get(again, varies on your city).
With all due respect there is like 1/8 of the year is bad weather here. Dont generalize if you havent lived in every state.
Bad weather for singing=rain, chillyness, snow, even extreme heat. Humidity is alson fairly bad for your instrument(depending on what a street singer plays, it can cost hundreds of dollars to replace his instrument). It does dependon the region, and the singer of course. I did have a fellow street singer crazy enough to sing during snow, but he was a looney. Didn't make that much money during the season either. It also messed up his voice, making him sound pretty bad.
That shouldn't matter to you. What should matter is whether or not you like your job and if you're making enough to support yourself. Just because the street performer makes more money than you doesn't mean that the street performer's life is better than yours.
Agreed. A lot of people make more than you; it doesn't affect your life one bit. Jealousy is a bitch, isn't it? Incidentally, many street performers are talented and dedicated artists. Can you say the same about yourself? I worked full-time at a bank in my teens. Anyone who can count and doesn't have an arrest record can do it. The money is crap so I'm not sure why you're shocked. If it's eating you, get a different line of work.
So what? Stop thinking your better than people that work on the street just because you work in a bank.
well speak
Also consider if you are full time you probably get benefits the street performer doesnt. lets see who pays more when they need a doctor.
obviously he's good at playing

Being a street performer takes talent. Maybe train and/or find another job that takes talent?
I'm very sorry to hear that, OP. That must be rough. I really feel for you. Now shut the **** up, get an advanced degree, and make something of yourself so you don't have to complain here. In the time it took you to write this FML, you could have applied for college or a masters degree.
