I got light highlights once. It looks fine unless they're done too thick. And my hair is really dark.

I feel bad for OP being made fun of for her choice in hair color/style. I personally think the 'skunk' look is unattractive but it's just my opinion and I would never make fun of someone for making that choice for themselves.
