@ jimboom--I agree. I just hate for anyone to rule out any options that may still suffer. You are right, all options should be explored. That's why I pointed out the book in my first post. It has breathing exercises and a bunch of other things that can help a person naturally deal with panic and anxiety, and it also helps to identify what kind of disorder you have. I didn't mean that drugs should be the first option, just that they shouldn't be ruled out. Everyone is different.
Hey, I totally know what you are going through! i have the exact same issue. i have been on a medication for 4 years now and it doesnt stop the anxiety attacks but i lessens the likelihood of having them every ten minutes (which was happening to me). there is also a seditive (not enough to knock you out) that is just enough to stop chest pain if that is what you go through. If you havent been to a doctor, definately go. Also, get some soothing and relaxing meditation music or guided meditation. it really does calm you down enough to control some attacks. There are medications out there but you can also lessen the attacks with therapy and meditation. I hope everything works out for you! I really hope that you are able to pass this semester and i am sure you will just blow your professors out of the water! ;-)
If this already is happening because you're afraid of failing school then you're going to get it much worse later on in life. Think you failed at life in advance, sorry :(
school is so stressful, talk to a doctor, you can get some valium or something to mellow you out and break the cycle, worked for me!
hey man, just wanted to say you're not the only one. i'm going through this exact same thing right now. i've been on medical leave from school for 2 months now because i couldn't make it through the day without having an attack at school, and today i got an email that says that i won't be graduating because i've missed too much work. i know how you feel. hang in there.
Damn near the same thing happened to me, only I'm going to fail all of my classes this semester because I've been too sick to go to school for MOST of the semester. My school wants to expel me, and at this point, I WANT to be expelled. **** this, I'd rather be homeschooled. :/
HAHAHAHAHA oh sweet irony
first things first, do not listen to anyone that tells you to smoke weed to help the anxiety. Weed can actually cause people with panic disorder to HAVE a panic attack and/or become extremity paranoid. second, everyone who is telling you to contact the special needs offices in your school are right. if you have a documented issue (any type of disorder that may compromise your preform in school) they are required to give you special assistance (such as extended time for tests, or perhaps in your case, being allowed to take your test in a separate room to eliminate test anxiety). Im not sure if they can take back a grade for a past semester because it is kind of your responsibility to inform them of any issues you may have at the beginning of the semester. however, there may be some teachers that are just nice and will cut you some slack. if not, just remember that failing a semester is not the end of the world, and life will go on. and when you are experiencing these panic attacks, just remind yourself that they are just panic attacks, and that they will pass in time. finally, i would suggest that if you are not already seeing a psychologist then you should probably do so. there are many forms of therapy that will help you cope with you anxiety. hang in there and remember that you are not alone
I imagine you're in college, right? Go to your academic advisor and explain the situation. See if he/she can help you petition for another chance next semester. They MAY even be able to hook you up with a student advocate who can write the professors or talk to them into turning your classes you are failaing into audits. This means you went to class/did the work etc but didn't get a grade and didn't get a failure. You also have the option of re-taking classes where teachers won't let you do that and trading the bad grade for the better grade without ruining your GPA. Meanwhile, working with the Tutoring Center (or whatever it's called at your school) to see if they can help you make dr's appointments (maybe even on campus) and then a doctor's diagnosis of anxiety disorder - they can accommodate for that by giving you the test alone or more test time or something like that. There are always other options. If that doesn't work during that semester, see about a) taking your classes online b) moving back home (maybe it's being away from home that's making you anxious) and taking your classes at a community college or c) transfering to a different college for a fresh start. Good Luck!

Smoke some weed. That will help with the anxiety. Also, realise that there is more to life then good grades. They help sure but they are not the be all and end all. And life really begins after you finish school. Not during.
Speak with your school's disability services. I've had the same thing happen to me before, and it ish totally not cool.
