Today, I found out that I'm immune to laughing gas and partially immune to novocaine while I was getting two teeth pulled. FML

See, I have a GOOD dentist and he doesn't start any procedure before the Novocaine kicks in.

Good lord, what 3rd world country do you live in?

Your dentist should just have given you some more novocaine. I've seen people who needed a substantially higher dose than most people would, but giving another injection in the right spot never failed to numb them sufficiantly.

i had a tooth extracted and they must have given me 6 shots but i could still feel it throbbing.

I also had this when I had a wisdom teeth surgically removed by my girlfriend, a 5th year dentistry student. Most people only need one injection. But after two of them, I still felt the pain. And it was ******* painful! And because it was me, she wasn't so decisive when she needed to cut and slice. That made it even worse. Every time I reacted to it, she would only say hold on, endure it. And I did for two hours. Until her senior finally came over and ask me if I need another injection. That saves me a lot of pain. Bad news? She told me to save another wisdom teeth I have for her, the upper, more difficult one. If I found this site beforehand, I would've had an entry on it.

Why the **** would you have your girlfriend operate on you? She's bound to **** something up because she knows you.

I got four shots of novaccaine in my mouth so they could do something or another. I used to have a phobia of needles, and the novaccaine didn't even kick in until they told me it was okay to start eating again.

............ ouch! =D You could ask for extra shots or something, maybe it just takes a lot for it to actually take effect, a lot of people are like that, actually.

i had to get 4 wisdom teeth out and the doctor wouldn't give me any gas and i was wide awake through the whole thing. i was wondering why he wouldn't give me the gas. i later found out that he got banned from using it cause he kept getting caught using it on himself.

lol i wonder what are the effects on getting high on it

I have the same thing. I learned it, however, when they were performing a root canal and then extracting two impacted wisdom teeth. It was murder.

It's impossible to be "immune" to novocaine.
