Today, I found out that my boss of 2 years not only doesn't know my name, but calls me "Jew hair" behind my back because of my natural ringlets. This man determines all of my career progression. FML

Quit. Why stay with a boss/company if they can't even remember your name and on top of calling you some sort of racial slur.

I would start looking for another place to work.

OP you need to have a talk with him about name calling. If he doesn't listen, quit the job. I'm sure you'll find a more professional work place.

You can probably sue him for discrimination. Civil Rights law grants you protection if you are a member of a class or if you are perceived to be as such. If he discriminates against you for being Jewish, you are protected by law even if you aren't a Jew.

That is the American answer to everything isn't it? Suing someone. You're all lawsuit crazy out there I tell you!

First, start looking for new jobs. In the mean time, record multiple instances of him calling you that. Once you have the evidence, demand a raise and if he fires you, use the video as proof when you sue him over racist practices.

Is there someone higher up that him? If there is, make an official complaint. Or complain to HR. Someone, complain to someone about his use of racial slurs.

I'm not sure how discrimination laws work in the UK, but I'm fairly sure that something like this isnt allowed. I hope you work for a large enough company where you have an HR department, I would definitely talk to them.

Sorry but if your direct supervisor doesn't know our name after two years, thats your fault. When I start a new job I make sure my boss, their boss, hell even the dept head knows my name within a month or two. Thats career advancement 101.

Or maybe OP's boss goes out of his way to avoid getting to know his employees or refuses to get to know OP because he hates Jews. This is definitely not the OP's fault.

If after 6mo my boss was purposely making no effort to learn my name, I would find a new job. I can't think of any clearer signal that you dont matter to a company than having your supervisor be unwilling to learn your name.

Natural ringlets sound sexy. Now, I'm picturing OP as Elaine from Seinfeld (who I have a crush on).

HR time and start looking for a new job. Don't let him get away with being a racist sexiest boss. If you go to HR he may get fired and you take his job.You never know till you try.

Talk to human resources, that's what they're there for
