Today, I found out that my ferret, which my parents had told me ran away a few years ago, was actually given to my cousin while I was at a friend's house. My parents didn't want to deal with him anymore and gave him away for free. FML

Oh my gosh, this happened to me once. But it was with a dog not a ferret. I went over to my cousins house and was like WTF?! 'That's my dog bitch!' (I didn't actually say that) And she was like ohh yea... your mom gave her to me because she didn't want her anymore. I was like :O A week later she ran away because they didn't treat her right. :( Poor Esme.

Apparently, parents' OP didn't want the ferret to be around and give him. Certainly because of the smell or the messiness of him. That's intolerable. I have a ferret and I take care of him properly, but like anyone else, I take holidays sometimes and my mother wouldn't give my ferret away while I'm not here, just because she finds him "stinky". Btw, don't remove the scent glands of your ferrets to remove their smell. It's really bad for them and that won't work. It's forbidden in Europe.
