Today, I found out that my writing teacher entered in one of my paper grades wrong. After many emails, she said she can't change my grade unless I fax her the original. I need that grade fixed so I can keep my scholarship. I can’t find the paper anywhere. That one paper could cost me $30,000. FML

Same thing different taste

Underfunded and underappreciated

Today, I got back the essay I wrote about how my country's education system is fucked. At one point, I made a spelling mistake. My teacher wrote a note about it, basically calling me illiterate, and telling me to pay attention in school instead of whining about it. She misspelled "school". FML

This is why you save your papers on the computer.

#1: By original, the teacher means the graded copy so that she can verify that the OP isn't BSing her about the wrong grade thing. And, OP, that really sucks. I hope you find it.

It's funny how many stupid people don't understand the word "original".

YDI - if you are smart enough to have a scholarship you are smart enough to know you never discard any paper until after the semester is over. heck, I've been to 4 uni's, and they all said that about 50 times at orientation, not to mention the notes on the syllabi, the professors reminders in class etc

#54... they mean the graded paper for proof. I voted yes for this when I moderated it, and I'm saying FYL right now. That's just terrible.

do better in school. keep original copies on travel drive

Dude, you need to do this. Download a program called "Recuva" by "Piriform". It's free and it goes through the files you deleted from your hard drive, including your recycling bin, and it allows you to recover them. There's a very good possibility that it will find your paper, as long as it hasn't been overwritten. It's worth a try. Good luck.

#6 +1 That really sucks. In the future you might want to try keeping files of all your classwork, at least until each semester is over. I've found it to be invaluable. Otherwise, can you complain to the dean? Good luck finding your paper!

that freaking sucksss hope you find it!! FYL that was a bitch move on her part

Meh, I don't think you deserve it, but neither do I think your life is ******. Oh noes, paying your own way through college! What a terrible thought! Do what everyone else does (at least in this country), and get a loan to pay for your education.

All the assholes saying "You deserved it for not keeping track of your paper" MUST not go to a 4 year university. Do you people realize how hard it is to be a full time student AND keep track of EVERY single piece of paper ever given to you by a professor? ESPECIALLY if you think the Prof. keeps track of grades the way they're SUPPOSED to? WTH kind of Prof. gives back papers without double checking to make sure they've entered the grade properly anyway?

#62 I go to a four year college and have all my papers in a special folder. I know how hectic it is to be a full time student. I can keep track of my stuff. It's call common sense. And a person should be smart enough to know that a professor has to grade hundreds of papers. So they make mistakes. OP: The fact that you can't keep track of your own paper is kind of sad. You should always keep track of your paper just in case this sort of thing happens. Or, if you need it for something else. It seems those who go to college never think of all possibilites when it comes to things.
