Today, I found out that the guy I've been dating for the past 7 months, who insisted on keeping us a secret because it was "too soon", is proudly showing off his new 19 year old girlfriend he met a month ago. FML

If a guy (or girl!) insists on keeping you secret, for any length of time, it's because: a) S/he doesn't like you, just the sex, and is still looking for someone interesting. and/or b) s/he doesn't want his/her girl(boy-)friend to find out about you. and if you haven't met any of their friends after a couple of months...same difference. YDI, DTMFA, and move on.

I can't believe you thought he was serious. That sort of thing is okay for the first month or so, when you're still brand new and feeling out the relationship together, not sure if it will last. If you've been dating for 7 months and he still wants you to be a "secret", you should know something's wrong. Either he's ashamed to be seen with you, or he's been dating someone else the whole time and doesn't want her to find out about you. Either way, you should be dumping him for it.
