Finally, an FML that illustrates the repercussions of all those "fun" age-swap movies. Age-swaps are no laughing matter—don't let those Freaky Fridays, Bigs, or 17 Agains fool you!

OP - It's not really a date if you've never met in person.

If you mean date- there's video chatting and sites where you can watch movies or shows together. If you mean don't say you're dating, I think the word should apply depending on how your relationship is and how close you are rather than if you've touched each other or not.

The fact that he lied makes this man sound like a pedo and predator, you just happen to be 18 but what about his previous interaction with females, and how old will his next encounter be? He needs to be on LE radar if not already. Disturbing FML. Move on OP, you are now wiser...

68: It could also be a female. We don't know any genders.

48 and looks 28... please get me the recipe

Reminds me of when a friend of mine found out his wife was double his age, and secretly had a kid pretty much the same age as him.

30 years is a lot and that's quite an exaggeration. However, if they get along then all the best to both. Interested in the outrage though. What if he was a celebrity with lots of money? I'm sure we can think of a few with a large age gap that seems to be accepted.

That's normalization of bad behavior, not the bad behavior becoming acceptable because *money*. And normalization of bad behavior is also a bad thing.

Must be one youthful looking 48 year old.

I am 29 and I pass for 16 most days, when Jehovah's witnesses came to my door once they asked if my 9 year old was my younger sister, I was 7months pregnant with her brother at the time and huuuuge. But, just because I pass for younger I would never lie about it, and 20 years is a big lie. I'd be pretty suss of someone like that's intentions, especially because you're still so young.

we need an update from the OP who's the man and who's the woman

when I met my husband I was 22, and my sister, who introduced us, told me he was 26, and it was absolutely believable. he was in amazing shape, he looked great, and he was 37. I found out when his birthday rolled around 10 months later when his mother sent him a card that said "HAPPY 38th TO MY ONLY SON" I just never asked, 26 was so believable, he didn't act like guys my step dad's age (my step dad was 40 at the time, he's 15 years younger than my mom) and he certainly didn't look it. and by the time I found out how old he actually was I was 2 months pregnant and happily in love.
