Today, I got a tattoo with my boyfriend's name on it. As we're coworkers, I showed it to him thinking he’d love it. He told me he couldn’t continue the relationship anymore since he realized he wants to fix things with his wife. Three hours of pain and 2 years down the drain. FML

Today, I got piss drunk. Being a tattoo artist, I came to the intoxicated conclusion that I could save much more money doing my own tattoos on myself. I now have my ex-boyfriend's name permanently on my thigh. It's not even spelled right. FML

Today on my birthday, my wife thought it would be a good idea to get matching tattoos. Our tattoo artist happened to be her ex-boyfriend. I sat and listened to them talk about their relationship and how they should stay in touch. FML

Marriage is supposed to be forever, just because so many people suck at maintaining theirs currently doesn't mean it's stupid to get a tatt symbolizing your love. If you genuinely believe it'll last (and you should, or else don't get married) then there's nothing wrong with getting it tattooed on you. It's a sweet expression of your love and what it symbolizes is beautiful. Plus it's your body. And for the people saying a tattoo "dooms" a relationship. Ummmm wow. Get out more and close the old wives tale, dumb superstition book. The only thing that dooms a relationship is when both partners don't give it 100%. Grow up people. And OP, FYL. Sorry it didn't work out, but the tattoo was a sweet expression of your love in my opinion. It's just sad how lightly people take marriage nowadays.

I would never get a tattoo that revolved around someone I was having a relationship with. It's a stupid idea, because the chances are high that you'd split at some point.
