Today, I found out the tattoo symbolising my marriage turned out to be more permanent than the marriage itself. FML

you dummy, you never get tattoos about people.

Getting tattoos signifiying any relationship is pretty stupid. It's not cute or sweet, it's idiotic. You can't gaurentee anything will last forever... EXCEPT tattoos. Those are forever. Relationships however, are so volatile, you can't predict what will happen years down the road. People change, situations change, you can't say you KNOW you'll be together forever - you can say you HOPE you're together forever. YDI hands down.

Date someone else with the same name.

I've always liked the saying, "A tattoo is a permanent reminder of a temporary impulse". Have some respect for your body.

Yeah the only names you should ever get tattooed on you are relatives, preferably parents or children, and preferably dead ones. >> Getting a spouse's name on you is pretty much tempting fate, and stuff like that rarely ends well. YDI.

With 50% of marriages ending in divorce, why on earth would ANYONE get a tattoo to signify love for someone else? Love is not permanent, ink in your skin is. I just don't get it. There have been so many movies/stories about this happening, what would possibly compel somebody to think their average marriage is any different than the other millions of people who couldn't make it work? YDI. Maybe if you'd found a better way of showing your love than getting a permanent drawing on your body, you wouldn't be in this situation.

LOL ! that's what you get for getting a tramp stamp !

Um, where did the OP state they got their spouse's name on them? A tattoo symbolizing a marriage doesn't necessarily have to mean names. It could be a picture they both loved or symbolized both of them in some way. But still, that sucks. If it actually is a name, hope you can cover it up. #99, what? They didn't say it was a tramp stamp, and they wouldn't deserve it even if it was.

DUDE that rly rly sucks dnt evr get tats with peeps names
