Today, I googled for an hour how to open my CD player on my laptop. Turns out, there is none. They just put a space there to make it look like a CD player. FML

Sometimes that space can be removed and you can put a real CD player in. Maybe that is the case?

not a toshiba?! mines exactly the same, even has the cd drives listed and everything.... but no...

Just as annoying as womens' jeans always having pretend pockets.

It doesn't look like one, it's a place for one to go. Google what kind of cd player would fit on it, buy it, and get a tech savvy relative to install it.

Here's how you solve the problem... 1. Buy a new laptop with CD player (this time check properly) 2. Buy a maintenance toolkit. Make sure it contains a Philips screwdriver. 3. Check YouTube for how to uninstall CD-ROM 4. Uninstall CD player from your new laptop. 5. Using reverse steps, install it on your old laptop. Now you have your laptop with a CD player. problem solved in 5 easy steps!

1. Go to the store and buy an external cd/dvd port that connects via USB. 2. Plug it in

Mines the same way. I have an Acer Aspire Touch laptop and when I got it my dad and I spent way too long trying to open it

Most likely you can buy a DVD-ROM and install it fairly easy and for under $30. Newegg. Com Just look up a video on how remove the cover plate and how to install the drive. Should take 20min max.

This exact thing happened to me! Ugh I hate it.

Luckily you can buy a usb cd player for like $20
