Today, I got a call from a police department saying that if I didn't move my car from a store's parking lot within the next 15 minutes, they were going to tow it and charge me for the fee. I was at work and the reason I parked it there is because it started smoking and almost caught fire. FML

Today, I went to lunch with a friend in her car. I told her to park in a lot that had signs warning that we'd be towed, saying, "They never tow anyone from here. In fact, if you get towed, I'll pay for it." When we returned, her car was gone. I had to pay $145 in cash to get it back. FML

Today, while borrowing my girlfriend's dad's truck, I had to pay $120 to prevent it from being towed. I was parked right in front of my apartment unloading heavy furniture into my garage for not even 20 minutes while the apartment manager, who called the tow truck, watched us from his balcony. FML

Today, my car was towed. After taking a cab all the way to the lot for $45 and paying the $250 fee to get my car back, my car broke down in the impound lot and needed to be towed to the nearest shop, where it took another $200 to fix, and $50 for the towing. I still have a 3-hour drive home. FML

Today, I came outside to leave for work. To my shock and horror my car was gone. My asshole neighbor, who has parked in my spot multiple times decided to let her noisy guests park in my parking spot, so I parked in hers. She had my car towed. FML

Thats so irresponsible to just leave your car anywhere because theres something wrong with it...and i guarentee that their boss would have let them go fix the problem it its not like they need some huge amount of time to take care of it.

Are you sure it "almost caught fire" or are you one of those people that knows nothing about cars so every smoke/mist/gas escape from under your hood is a sign of fire? It's hot under the hood naturally. If something leaks or splashes from any where you're going to have "smoke"... I'm sorry because it's not necessarily the case here but I hate how people over dramatize everything.. "My car almost caught fire that's why I parked it there" *oven left on for 10 minutes* "Almost burned the house down"

Car smoking= usually means out of coolant or the radiator has just hit it's time(for the people who obviously could not comprehend this FML, radiator is old or broken). It's the ******* twentieth century, you can get the car's owner by it's license plates...and therefore get her contact information. If you're a cop all this information gets pulled up. >.
