You deserve it for unilaterally deciding that the order the customer placed is not what you should deliver. Think of it as a contract. When a customer places an order and you accept their money, your duty is to provide precisely what was specified in the order. If you are unable or unwilling to do so, then do not accept the money. On a side note, it also really grinds my gears when fast food people think they're doing you a huge personal favor in remaking something correctly that they've screwed up and you have to bring back. It was "no mayo" when you took the order--why should I be impressed by your "generosity" in making a mayo-free replacement sandwich now?
