Today, I got a letter in the mail from corporate saying that I'm being demoted because I don't work enough hours. I also got a text from my boss congratulating me on making the best sales numbers for November. FML

nikkih_06 tells us more.

I was demoted from part time to causal part time, which requires that I work less then 20 hours a week. And I only get commission if I go over my goal.

You're just really efficient, point it out to your manager and get the matter rectified

You work little hours but have the best sales? The people at corporate sure are blind...

Take that message from your manager and job-hunt. With that record you are very hirable!!

Sounds like corporate and your boss aren't communicating. They are probably also only looking at figures but forgot to look at the actual results figures.

I guess OP knows the twist ...OP's boss took OP's credit and got increment and op got demotion and a appreciation text... FYL OP..its time to **** with your boss's.

If the OP is a full time employee then there is an hour limit that s/he must hit by most company policy. If OP did not make that limit they would automatically be demoted to part time...because s/he worked part time hours. It has nothing to do with how good/efficient/hard working they are...just how many hours they clocked.

So you make more sales than everyone else, in less time....sounds like your boss' boss prefer inefficient employees.

You just described Corporate America.

Sounds like a miscommunication up the chain of command. Let your supervisor and HR know why you disagree with the demotion.

If I work less than 20 hours a week, I would look for a different job. If you enjoy sales, I would start there. There are many jobs that are sales.

Sorry OP. Corporate sucks sometimes. They forget about the best worker bees sometimes
