Today, I got a yeast infection, caused by the antibiotics for my UTI. I got the UTI after having sex for the first time in a year. A couple of minutes of sex have ruined my health. FML

Ha, at least it didn't turn into a kidney infection...

You can easily get a UTI with a condom.

A UTI or thrush cannot be transmitted sexually. Sex can be the cause of both - especually if the pair have done anal then vaginal and not changed the condom or washed themselves off.

Thrush certainly can be transmitted sexually, as can some UTI's (cystitis for instance). But you can get a UTI from sex even using a condom - it's not the same as a STI/STD.

I get Diflucan every time I get an antibiotic.

Not sure why this was voted down, it's really common to prevent yeast infections when taking antibiotics.

"When a woman first starts having sex, she's more likely to get a urinary tract infection. She's most at risk the first time she has sex with a new partner. Frequent sex increases the risk of developing a UTI, too, as does having more sex partners". http://www.everydayhealth.com/urinary-tract-infections/the-link-between-utis-and-sex.aspx

This sounds like it could be a deleted scene from the movie 'Juno', nevertheless that had to hurt. You should drink up more on water and cranberry juice for the UTI and eat more organic good for the yeast infection before you get back in the saddle again. Feel better!

always order an antifungal with certain antibiotics. that's happened to me twice. well the medication reaction....

Get well soon! hope it was worth it at least :)

Take cranberry pills to prevent another UTI. They have way less sugar and are much stronger than cranberry juice.

OMG! Your health is not ruined. Grow up and stop being so dramatic. A yeast infection is no big deal.
