Today, I got a yeast infection, caused by the antibiotics for my UTI. I got the UTI after having sex for the first time in a year. A couple of minutes of sex have ruined my health. FML

How did you get a UTI from sex? They're not sexually transmitted. The sex is unrelated to your health problems.

Sex can cause bacteria to get pushed into the urethra so, yes, UTIs can be caused by having sex.

Just remember that the average act of intercourse is about 7 minutes among men and women without any prior ailments.

Why didn't your doctor prescribe a yeast infection medication/ointment as a precaution? My doctors have always done that if there was a chance of a yeast infection from an antibiotic.

I got a yeast infection from the antibiotics I was on for a throat infection. I feel your pain. They suck

A few seconds minutes always do. That's why you use condoms

Condoms have nothing to do with this. You can easily get UTIs and yeast infections even if you use a condom.

Hang in there, OP. I had what I thought was a yeast infection but ended up being bacterial vaginosis. The antibiotics I took for that now seem to have given me a yeast infection. My boyfriend is convinced me "getting all these infections" means I must be cheating on him, even though doctors aren't really sure what causes either condition and even virgins can get them. It's getting hard to keep being understanding instead of getting mad at being accused of something I didn't do...

I got a staph infection, and I was put on antibiotics. I had an allergic reaction to one of them and broke out in hives. The antibiotic I switched to because of the hives gave me a yeast infection. I had to get another antibiotic for that...

That's rough, OP. Though saying it "ruined" your health is a bit much; at least UTIs are usually treatable. Yours must be, if you have medication for it. Chin up. You'll be all right.
