Today, I got an expensive return bus ticket to visit my family 200 miles away. I accidentally tore the ticket when taking it from the machine, but the driver said not to worry, as it would still be accepted on the way back. Guess who's still 200 miles from home. FML

Explain to the bus driver what happened. How expensive can a bus ticket be, anyways?

How come you didn't tape it back together? ....Well I guess if the other half of your ticket was still stuck in the machine taping it would not be possible but surely you could've called the company for a replacement ticket.

Be careful next time. Ydi, butterfingers !

Just to be the man who walked a thousand miles To fall down at your door

that sucks :( FYL! hope you made it home ok!

Nothing worse than being alone in unfamiliar "tear"atory except for possibly being stranded with family for a long weekend Beware "home for the holidays" The live interactive play that casts you in the lead whether you want it or not

Next time get it in writing. That had to suck.

Hey, on the positive side, you're still with your family....

maybe ask your folks for a ride? it sure does suck and next time you'll be better off insisting on getting a new one but right now that's the best option. More than buying a new one. I'm sure they'll understand and try to help out. They ARE your family after all

hey that happened to me too, kind of. i bought a train ticket online in 2001 and said "pick up at station" b/c i was already leaving the next day by bus and it would be too late if they mailed it. well i got to the first station to pick up the ticket only to find out they mailed it to my house ten states away. the first train station told me just get on the train and when my transfer came to just explain what happened. well i got to the transfer in an allegedly very dangerous city (i was a teenage girl under 18) and they refused to let me on the train to go home and refused to let me go back to the station i had just come from
